Project Description

We take our custom actions seriously.

AppSecInc. Community MSI Extensions is a collection of MSI custom actions and WIX extensions that extend Windows installer, originally developped by Application Security Inc. for a large enterprise product, and open-sourced in late 2009. The project grew and continues growing incrementally implementing everything that wix didn't have out of the box. All custom actions and extensions are fully unit-tested.

Stable release: 1.2 (wix 3.0)
Next release: 1.3 (Beta) (wix 3.5)

A development environment for MSI Extension developers requires the following software:

Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 SP1
Microsoft SQL Server 2005
MSXML4 SP2
Subversion Client
MSBuild Community Tasks 1.3
Doxygen
WiX 3.0
Java Development Kit 1.6

Source Code

Get source code from SVN at https://msiext.svn.codeplex.com/svn/trunk.

Once you have the above software installed, checkout the source code. Double-click the Visual Studio solution file, MSI.sln and Visual Studio will open.

Build

Build the whole project from command-line once with build all /p:Configuration=Release.

Patches

Upload patches here.

A development environment for MSI Extension developers requires the following software:

Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 SP1
Microsoft SQL Server 2005
MSXML4 SP2
Subversion Client
MSBuild Community Tasks 1.3
Doxygen
WiX 3.0
Java Development Kit 1.6

Once you have the above software installed, checkout the source code. Double-click the Visual Studio solution file, MSI.sln and Visual Studio will open.

Build the whole project from command-line once with build all /p:Configuration=Release.
